e-skills UK's mission is to ensure the UK has the skills it needs to compete in the global economy. e-skills UK brings together employers, educators and Government to address together the technology-related skills issues no one party can solve on its own. What is the purpose of CC4G?

e-skills UK's CC4G is changing the way young people think about technology and IT careers. This award-winning initiative, which is already benefiting more than 125,000 members in over 3,600 schools, captures students' imagination at an age when young people typically become disinterested in IT.

Isn’t CC4G just for girls?

The new CC4G site and learning content has been developed to be more gender neutral and can be used with mixed gender groups as well as girl only clubs.

CC4G was developed in 2005 exclusively for girls in response to the gender imbalance within the IT industry. Currently, only one in five of the UK’s IT workforce are women and only one in five of those undertaking IT-related degree courses are women. CC4G has developed a fun and educational package that has proved a massive hit with 10 -14 year old girls in over 3,600 schools across England.

The next generation of CC4G aims to preserve the original objective of the project by encouraging more girls and boys to rethink their perception of the IT industry and to consider a technology related career.
