Four years ago, had you heard of Bebo or Facebook? Four years ago, who would have thought of the possibility of the i-phone?
Here at CC4G, we are aware of the pace of change in the IT industry and the huge number of technological advances since CC4G was born four years ago. We want to make sure that CC4G keeps up-to-date with these advances, so that you can enjoy it as much as possible.
What We've Achieved So Far
CC4G was developed in 2005 exclusively for girls in response to the gender imbalance within the IT industry. Currently, only one in five of the UK’s IT workforce are women and only one in five of those undertaking IT-related degree courses are women. CC4G has developed a fun and educational package that has proved a massive hit with 10 -14 year old girls in over 3,600 schools across England.
CC4G: The Next Generation
The next generation of CC4G aims to preserve the original objective of the project by encouraging more girls, and boys, to rethink their perception of the IT industry and to consider a technology related career. By redesigning CC4G to be more gender neutral we also hope to respond to huge demand from schools to make CC4G suitable for use within curriculum time - in a co-ed, or girls only environment as well as giving schools the freedom to continue running girls only or mixed extra curricula clubs.
